What Causes Pain From Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a disorder that causes pain throughout the body. It often develops after a traumatic event, such as an illness, injury, surgery, infection, or psychological stress. Although there is no single cause for fibromyalgia, there are several risk factors, including genetics, your sex (it occurs more often in women than men), and as a symptom of other disorders, including osteoarthritis, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. In fact, often, patients have a hard time telling the difference between fibromyalgia and neuropathy, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, and, even, fibromyalgia and chronic migraines

Fibromyalgia affects the central nervous system, making it difficult for your body to process pain signals accurately. As a result, you may experience chronic pain in different areas throughout your body. You may also experience fatigue, sleep disturbance, and difficulty concentrating or thinking clearly. In some cases, the brain’s pain receptors can become more sensitive, causing them to overreact to even the slightest sensations.

The RELATYV Mobile Pain Management Protocol For Fibromyalgia Pain

The protocol focuses on a neurofunctional pain management approach to fibromyalgia. This holistic approach to treatment is based on the understanding that fibromyalgia involves the interaction of numerous factors, including physical, psychological, mental, and emotional components.

Although there is no cure, we can still help you manage your symptoms using a combination of electroanalgesia and IV therapy and personalized lifestyle counseling to help mitigate future symptoms and improve your overall quality of life.

Additionally, our treatment allows you to avoid using medications (which can cause side effects and be addictive), chiropractic treatment (which is unproven and often unsafe), and surgery (which can lead to complications, such as infections or injuries).

Electrical Stimulation And Analgesia For Fibromyalgia in Tempe, Arizona

Our primary method for treating chronic pain caused by fibromyalgia is electroanalgesia. This treatment works by delivering electrical stimulation to the affected area. This electrical current helps to block pain signals, thereby counteracting the effects of the misfiring pain receptors associated with fibromyalgia. Additionally, electroanalgesia helps the body release endorphins, which can help relax tense muscles and reduce inflammation, further helping to relieve pain.

It’s important to mention that our electroanalgesia treatment differs from TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) treatments. TENS is designed to stimulate the nerves and muscles to deliver short-term relief using low-pulse currents, while our electroanalgesia therapy inhibits pain signals from reaching the brain using high-pulse currents to deliver long-term pain relief.

Electroanalgesia is a noninvasive treatment, so you can expect to be able to continue your daily activities without any disruption. However, it does require two sessions a week for a total of 12 weeks to be effective. The way electroanalgesia works is that the more sessions you have, the more effective each individual session will be in providing long-term pain relief.

IV Therapy For Fibromyalgia Pain in Tempe, Arizona

IV therapy is a method of delivering vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream through an IV drip. This treatment allows your body to absorb nutrients more quickly and efficiently than orally.

IV therapy can deliver nutrients that include vitamin B, calcium, and magnesium, which your nerve cells and muscles require to function correctly. As a result, IV therapy can help reduce nerve damage and muscle pain, both of which are symptoms of fibromyalgia. Additionally, fluids can be added to the IV to help hydrate the body, thereby reducing fatigue and improving cognitive function.

To determine what kind of IV therapy is right for you, we will perform bloodwork to evaluate what nutrients your body may be lacking. This will help us tailor the IV therapy to your specific needs to maximize its effectiveness.

Lifestyle Counseling For Fibromyalgia in Tempe, Arizona

Finally, we believe that to effectively manage fibromyalgia and its symptoms, it’s essential to take a holistic approach to treatment. This means that we not only address the existing symptoms of fibromyalgia with electroanalgesia and IV therapy, but we also look at your lifestyle and how it may affect your condition.

As part of the RELATYV Mobile Pain Management protocol, we offer personalized lifestyle counseling to help identify habits or activities that may aggravate your symptoms and provide guidance on modifying them. We also look at your diet and provide nutritional advice to ensure that your body gets all the nutrients it needs to heal and function properly.

By taking a comprehensive approach to treatment, we can help you find relief from the chronic pain caused by fibromyalgia and improve your overall quality of life.
