What causes pain from Endometriosis?

Endometriosis results from the growth of endometrial tissue (which is similar to the tissue that lines the uterus) outside the uterus, usually in the pelvic area. This extra tissue can cause inflammation and scarring, leading to pain and discomfort. Endometriosis can cause different types of pelvic pain, such as cramping, stabbing, and aching. The actual cause of endometriosis is unknown.

The symptoms often occur during the menstrual cycle because the endometrial tissue is affected by hormones, leading to particularly painful periods. However, symptoms aren’t limited to the menstrual cycle and can persist throughout the month.  In fact, they often flare up during physical activities due to the tissue being irritated by movement. These can include pain with intercourse, digestive issues, stomach pain, and infertility

The Neuragenex NFPM for Endometriosis Pain

The Neuragenex NFPM protocol for endometriosis pain involves a neurofunctional pain management approach. This approach involves two types of therapy to treat endometriosis pain: electroanalgesia and IV therapy.

In addition, whereas painkillers often have adverse side effects and both chiropractic treatment and surgical procedures can result in complications (such as injuries), the therapies we use to treat endometriosis pain are proven to be safe and effective.

Because we take a holistic approach to pain management, we have developed an individualized protocol specifically for endometriosis-related pain. This means that we not only treat existing symptoms, but also consult and educate patients to help them make adjustments to their lifestyle habits, diet, and other factors to further reduce their pain over the long term.

Electrical Stimulation and Analgesia for Endometriosis Pain in Tucson, Arizona

Electroanalgesia is an FDA-cleared pain relief method that stimulates the nerves with high-pulse electrical currents, which differs from standard TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) therapy, which uses low-pulse currents for short-term pain relief.

Our electroanalgesia therapy effectively manages pain associated with endometriosis and other chronic pelvic conditions by blocking pain signals from reaching the brain and helping the body release endorphins that naturally reduce pain. Electroanalgesia is particularly effective in treating endometriosis-related pain because it reduces inflammation and tension in the pelvic area.

Although it’s been proven effective for decades, electroanalgesia is not commonly used because it doesn’t provide the same quick short-term results as pain medications and surgery. Instead, it provides a long-term approach to managing the pain and helping the body heal itself. Results last longer the more treatments are received, thereby contributing to an improved quality of life.

We recommend that patients with Endometriosis pain receive two treatments of electroanalgesia per week for 12 weeks for the best results.

IV Therapy for Endometriosis Pain in Tucson, Arizona

IV therapy is a treatment in which fluids that include vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients are injected directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous drip. This treatment is beneficial for endometriosis-related pain because IV therapy helps to improve circulation and reduce inflammation, which in turn can help to reduce symptoms like pelvic pain and fatigue. IV therapy also helps hydrate the body, which can help reduce cramping by loosening the muscles.

We tailor our IV therapy treatment to the needs of each patient. We do this by evaluating their bloodwork to determine which vitamins and minerals are needed to administer a personalized IV solution that helps reduce pain and inflammation.

Lifestyle Counseling for Endometriosis Pain in Tucson, Arizona

Our protocol for endometriosis pain is a holistic approach to managing pain. We believe that the best way to permanently manage endometriosis pain is to address both its physical and psychological aspects. That’s why we incorporate lifestyle counseling into our protocol. We help our patients understand the importance of lifestyle changes, such as diet, exercise, and stress management. These strategies can help reduce inflammation, pain, and fatigue associated with endometriosis.

Additionally, not only can our treatment plan help reduce chronic pain caused by endometriosis, but reducing long-term physical pain can help have a positive impact on mental health as well, which also contributes to an improved quality of life.
